Tuesday's Corner

That's me and my beautiful old dog Harry. Sitting on our deck at Kensington, during the early 1990s.

17 years on, and this photo continues to depict me to a tee.

Serious. Curious. Independent. Homebody. Bookworm.

It's true. As much as things change, they remain the same.

Seasons

A change of season always ushers in new beginnings, colours, hopes and dreams.

As an English girl, winter is the ultimate time of year for me. I love soft cashmere jumpers, hot cups of cocoa, stoking the fire, and my annual July country escapes.

With summer making its grand and scorching entrance over the weekend, my nostalgia for these cooler months was greatly exacerbated.

However, this year I have decided to embrace the longer days and warmer nights. I will delight in citrusy hues and flavours, the saltiness that permeates the air and the sandiness that pervades my hair. I will indulge in simple pleasures... whether it be afternoon picnics, a glass of fruity punch, seaside adventures, or lazy days reading by the pool. I will take time to rest my body, recharge my mind and revitalise my soul.

And so, it is with these newfound ambitions that I begin this season of life...

Here's to Summer! May she bring us lots of love and light.

The Gift of Love

My life is shaped and strengthened by extraordinary human beings. You cannot know me, without knowing them. For I carry their hearts in mine.

Some reside in Heaven, and the rest, here on Earth.

Yet distance, time and space is irrelevant.

For it is love that transcends; love that encapsulates; love that nourishes; love that sustains.

every. single. day.

The power, beauty and meaning unleashed by relationships is like no other.

And for the rest of my life, I will always give thanks to the One Above for this great gift.

A Debut of Sorts

Here’s the thing…
I have a number of burgeoning loves:
My Creator, humanity, nature, teaching, writing, languages, fiction, film, history, photography, culture, tea.
So I created this small and unassuming space, dedicated to all of the above.
Perusing Musings.
A place to create, reflect, dwell and share.
For those who stumble across my page, please enjoy and engage.
